Mikhail Yurevich has made his working visit to Sim town of Ahsa district. The principal assignment given by the Governor upon his visit was the instruction to intensify the work aimed at business development in the areas adjacent to M-5 federal highway.
The Governor has started his visit by opening the district landmark site – the Sports Palace. Citizens could not attend the swimming pool which was a part of this construction for several years due to its poor condition. The site was brought in line with the modern standards thanks to the personal commitment of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, and the Governor of Chelyabinsk region. More than 50 mln. rubles were invested in modernization of that site. Sportsmen have already been training when Mr. Yurevich visited the Sports Palace. However, the Governor showed his dissatisfaction with the rink repair quality near the Sports Palace, he instructed to install a special rubber ramp for sportsmen and to arrange the changing room within a week.
The Governor has also met Sim’s representatives of small business. One of the major concerns of that little town businessmen was the impossibility to employ the land adjacent to the M5 «Urals» federal highway in their businesses. In many cases they merely don’t know whom to ask and who exactly owns these promising and beneficial sites. Mikhail Yurevich was indignant about the situation, especially considering that this problem had already been discussed by him with the President of the Russian Federation earlier. At that meeting Dmitry Medvedev noticed that it would be reasonable to introduce individual tachographs for drivers, especially for the long-haul heavy-duty truck drivers. That measure would make them to stop at certain intervals and, as a consequence, to avoid driving fatigue, which means less road traffic accidents. But this will require to arrange the special areas along the highway which are hardly present on the М5 alongside Sim now. The Governor demanded a detailed map specifying the owners of the land plots being adjacent to the highway. «My principal rebuke to the Asha government is insufficient utilization of M5 highway capacity. They could make camping sites, parkings and car-care centers here. And it still has no progress. Furthermore, this will create new jobs that should not be ignored,» – stated the Governor.
